I'm back in my hometown again. Yup, I'm back, but not for long.
For the first time in my life, I had not bought myself any new year clothes. Anyway, I guess I have to mix and match my clothings so they would still look, erm, new.
So, how did I spent my new year celebrations?
New year's eve was spent with my aunts and cousins, since some of my far-away cousins were back. Anyway, my gay cousin was back too... and damn he's getting more and more gorgeous, despite his age, and his beer belly. Darn. Still, it was fun to see all of them again, and we spent the night laughing and giggling over the dinner table.
The first day of new year was splendid. Besides visiting relatives, we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa's graves. It sound kind of odd to make such visits during new year but then, it brings back some of the best-est memories we had. All of us had spent so many time growing up with both of them, so that we can't stop sobbing while we were hanging around at the cemetery.
The next stop was our old kampung house; it's been ages since someone had maintained it, and it's falling apart, with the kitchen first. We trudged among the ruins and picked up a few more memorabilia and memories that we left behind when we grew up there.
Well, I guess we've all grown out of our childhood now.
Anyway, it's great to see my darling cousins again, and I'm thrilled to have spent so many wonderful time together, though they were short. Blood does run thicker than water...
